Formed From This Earth


Formed from this earth by the hands of our God, and there shall we return: 
sign one another with the ashes of life. 
Rejoice and believe the Good News! 


Have mercy on us, O God, with great tenderness wipe dry our tears. 
With Your great goodness and love, wash us and cleanse our sin. 


We are aware of our faults, having failed to be faithful in love. 
You, Holy Wisdom, are just, hide not Your face from us. 


Create within us again hearts and spirits renewed in Your joy. 
Open our mouths and our lips, that we may sing Your praise! 


Wash us, and we will become fresh as snow covered mountains and hills. 
Show us Your favor again, bring us from death to life!
