Parting The Waters Long is the journey, wide is the sea, our pathway to new life. Parting the waters, call out our names; lead us, God of our life. When from our exile, God leads us home, we will think it a dream! Then we will sing songs filled with praise: our hope will leap for joy. Yahweh, You hear the cries and laments of all who long to be free. Casting the mighty down from their thrones, You raise the poor to life. Like a shepherd, walk in our midst; lead us to our promised land. Near living waters, our hearts refresh: our hunger, feed at Your feast. Wake now, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Once you were darkness, now splendid light: so bear the fire of God. © 1991 The Benedictine Foundation of the State of Vermont, Inc.
