Retreat Accommodations - General Information
- LENGTH OF STAY
The ordinary length of stay at the priory guesthouses is from three days to one week.
- REQUIRED CONFIRMATION OF RESERVATION
Confirmation of all reservations will be required in writing.
- SHOULD YOU NEED TO CANCEL
Should it become necessary to cancel a reservation, notice should be given to the guestbrother as soon as possible, in order to make the space available to others.
- COST
No fee is requested, but offerings are accepted by the guestbrother for the upkeep of the guesthouses. Persons unable to make a financial offering are always welcome.
- PREPARING FOR THE NEXT GUESTS
Assistance with various house chores (e.g., vacuuming rooms, dusting, remaking beds) is a way to participate in extending hospitality to the guest(s) who will follow you. It also makes it possible for the brothers to extend hospitality to persons without financial means.
- CLIMATE / CLOTHING
- May through October: The climate usually calls for some warmer clothing, such as a sweater or light jacket.
- November through April: These months are winter in Vermont; appropriate clothing is necessary.
- Informal clothing and rugged shoes are desirable most times of the year. Boots or overshoes are necessary in winter.
- SMOKING
Out of sensitivity to other guests, including those who will be following you in the guesthouse,
smoking is not permitted in the guesthouses or in the other monastery buildings.
- PETS
We ask that you not bring pets with you. Please make arrangements for the care of your pet as you plan your retreat time.
